78% of data breaches.
Is your OT really secure?

78 percent of U.S. industrial companies report data breaches in their operational technology (OT) environments. 44 percent experienced system outages and production downtime. Yet, 80 percent still consider themselves well or very well prepared for cyberattacks.

These conflicting numbers come from the new white paper, "The US OT Security Landscape", and raise an uncomfortable question: How reliable is perceived security in real-world industrial operations?

The report shows that OT is highly connected almost everywhere but not equally well managed. While large enterprises have largely implemented automated asset inventories, small and midsized organizations often remain stuck in hybrid environments with only partial visibility. That’s where blind spots emerge.

Of particular concern is how risk perception varies by role. OT professionals are far more likely than executives to recognize threats such as ransomware. At the same time, operational disruptions are handled tactically but underestimated strategically.

The white paper also explains why operational resilience is becoming the decisive factor. Organizations that have a firm grasp on OT can invest more confidently in innovation. Those that don’t are forced to battle outages, security incidents, and growing complexity—often all at once.

What does this mean for your organization?

Where do you stand between stability, perceived security, and your actual attack surface? The full white paper provides thought-provoking data and insights to help you see the big picture.
